My obsession with candles started when I was young. I always had a candle burning and my mother would have them placed all throughout the house. The desire to make candles came many years later. We noticed a void when we would attend different craft fairs with our kids. There were many vendors but hardly anyone making candles. That is what gave me the idea to turn this obsession into an opportunity. I didn’t want to make just any candle though, I wanted something that was different from the mass produced candles everyone was buying. That is when I discovered soy wax. Unlike the traditional paraffin candles that give off black smoke and put soot in the air, soy candles burn clean. The paraffin candles were very colorful but I found the scents to be overwhelming at times and they could even cause headaches. Our approach is to use 100% soy wax and cotton wicks. This makes for a cleaner candle that burns longer with no harmful additives. The candles are all hand poured in small batches so you can get them fresh and enjoy them without worrying how long they have been sitting.
